I am a mother of three, a teacher and hold a degree in Education, with extra English, theology and now accounting and marketing papers.

My daughter Katia, has recently achieved Stage 6 (where she should be) in the Numeracy Program, when she started the year behind in Stage 4. This is very exciting and is a huge leap- it goes to show how important regular practice in Math is.

I began creating basic facts math worksheets when I realised that my then 8 year old daughter was seriously struggling in Maths. Somehow, even as a teacher, I had missed this (I often worked late, and Dad did the homework). It all came down to the basics (addition, subtraction, division and multiplication) that she was weak in and therefore weak in all other areas of maths. So I created practice sheets for her that are designed for a 10-15 minute practice, Mondays to Fridays. I created fun activities that targeted the basics she needed to learn but were short and snappy. They are aligned with the same strategies and knowledge base that the New Zealand curriculum requires and come in 3 different levels to cater for age and ability.

StayOnTrack was born when my husband said to me "What happens for parents that don't have a background in education?"

There really is nothing for them, not unless they are willing to pay an absolute fortune.
